Subramaniapuram running 100 days still not out

Friday, October 17, 2008 |

Sasikumar's debut venture 'Subramaniapuram' has
successfully completed 100 days of screening all over Tamilnadu.
Sculpted in ace director's Bala and Ameer's workshop, Sasikumar has
managed a laudable coup with his very first endeavor. The movie set in
the backdrop of Madurai city in the 80's was made with meticulous
efforts, to bring out the apt feel of the era.

Firstly, the credit for this success goes in
entirety to the director for bringing out a movie with taut storyline
sans the run-of-the-mill commercial aspects. Even though lacking in
star value, the captivating narration accompanied with realistic
portrayal of the characters was warmly graced by the audience which yet
again proved that a considerable patronage is still being rendered by
the spectators for talent and not popularity.

Starring Jai of 'Chennai-28' fame, the director
himself enacted the prominent role in the movie. Actress Swathi made
her debut in to the Tamil industry, who earlier played the sister in
the Telugu version of 'Yaradi Nee Mohini'. Alongside the leads, the
movie featured 'Ganja' Karuppu in a noteworthy role.

Comparer turned music director James Vasanth made
his foray and his 'Kangal Irandal' is the most widely hummed song of
the recent times. Posing a brilliant background score along with the
songs, the songster is expected to make it big in his upcoming
endeavors. Another pivotal element of the movie is the excellent camera
work cranked by Kathir.

A scoop is, during the onset of the movie, it was
denied to be screened in many centers and was allotted a mere number of
three theatres to be launched. Later, multiplexes came forward to
screen the movie after realizing it's successful endeavor. The makers
of 'Subramaniapuram' had arranged a celebration, for the completion of
100 days of screening tomorrow.
